In water, this product continuously generates hypochlorous acid and nascent oxygen through a chain reaction. It oxidizes and chlorinates pathogens, interferes with the synthesis of the pathogens' DNA and RNA, causes the proteins of the pathogens to coagulate and denature, further disrupts the activity of the pathogens' enzyme systems, affects their metabolism, increases the permeability of the cell membrane, leads to the loss of enzymes and nutrients, and causes the pathogens to dissolve and rupture, thus killing the pathogens.
